Glasgow Museums has an extensive programme of exhibitions designed for all ages. Current exhibitions include those listed below. Each of our museums also has its own exhibitions section.
Pioneering Painters: The Glasgow Boys 1880–1900
The first major exhibition devoted to the Glasgow Boys since 1968 opens at Kelvingrove on 9 April.

Peddlers of Pleasure – Mr Punch and His International Cousins
Launching the brand new Springburn Exhibition Space. From Saturday 27 June 2009 until June 2010, The Open Museum is proud to present a partnership exhibition with John M Blundall: Peddlers of Pleasure – Mr Punch and His International Cousins.
The M74 Dig aimed to uncover the many sites of archaeological and historic importance along the route of the M74 Completion project.
The exhibition features work bought by Glasgow Museums Contemporary Art Purchasing Panel as well a gift presented by the Contemporary Art Society, London.
Seeds of Thought challenged their members to create an original illustrated poem to explore individual interpretations of conflict.
Arms and Armour at Glasgow Museums
The collection of arms and armour in the care of Glasgow Museums is one of the top three such collections in the country. It is also one of the most significant in the world. It contains many rare or unique pieces, which range in date from the ancient world to the present day. Now you can see some of the collection online.

Nuremberg Connections – a Burrell Collection trail for all the Family
The city of Nuremberg (German name Nürnberg) has been twinned with Glasgow since 1985. A trail at the Burrell Collection commemorates the anniversary visit by the Mayor of Nuremberg to the Burrell Collection on 7 October 2005.
Garden of Heaven: A unique Persian carpet in the Burrell Collection
The Burrell celebrates the arrival of spring and Naw Ruz – the Persian New Year festivities – by displaying its rarely seen Wagner Garden Carpet. The carpet is a prized 17th-century Persian garden carpet, one of the most important in the country.
A display in Yorkhill Sick Kids Zone 12+, created by young people at Yorkhill Hospital along with the Open Museum.

Past exhibitions – Lives in Motion
Have you ever stopped to think about the role transport plays in your life? This exhibition explores objects from Glasgow Museums' transport collections and tells the stories of how they affected people's lives.
The young people taking part in the Rural Urban Training Scheme (RUTs) worked with staff at National Museums Scotland to create this exhibition about Britain's motorcycle industry.
A selection of eight delicate prints displayed in the Fragile Art Gallery. Surimono is Japanese for ‘printed object’. These were luxury items, similar to high quality greetings card. They were only available to the wealthy to celebrate events such as festivals or the New Year.
