PROJECTS

16 artists have worked with over 1000 participants on a range of workshops across Glasgow. Work from these outreach projects has been exhibited in the Gallery of Modern Art, The Glasgow Film Theatre café and local community venues, where the work was created. Interest in this project has developed and a number of participants of all ages and nationalities have taken part.

Sessions were held in drop-in centres across the city and the education studio at GoMA. All the participants have created work, which explores issues important to them. Many looked at identity – some explored who they are, others show who they would like to be. The idea of ‘home’ was also explored – both where people live now or in their native land.

People’s experience ranged from professional or aspiring artist to complete beginner. In the workshops the artists were there to help participants develop their ideas visually in a wide range of media, whatever their experience.
