The Classrooms at Scotland Street School Museum

The three classroom reconstructions at Scotland Street School Museum show the changing face of the schoolroom from the Victorian era through the Second World War to the classroom of the 1950s and 1960s.

Documentary film

Scotland Street School Museum is a unique experience. It is Scotland's only Museum of Education as well as showing the architectural brilliance of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Scotland Street School Museum lies to the south of the city, close to Shields Road Underground and within easy access from the city centre.

Opening hours

Monday to Thursday and Saturday 10am to 5pm, Friday and Sunday 11am to 5pm.

By subway

The museum is directly opposite Shields Road Subway station.

By bus

First Bus services 89 and 90 both stop near the museum.

Facilities

Free guided tours,  male and female toilets, wheelchair access, The Willow Café and gift shop, pay and display parking with disabled parking facilities next to Shields Road Underground station.
